Pioneering as the first private Maritime Training facility in Sri Lanka, our establishment dates back to 1986. Today, we have evolved to become the MSTI Maritime Academy, the premier maritime academy in Sri Lanka. Starting from its scenic training facility in the coastal city of Galle, overlooking the Galle fortress, and its proximity to the seaport the academy is now operating its upgraded training facilities in Dehiwala, Katukurunda, and Kaluthara.
The training facility is geared by skilled and professional staff, who are well experienced in nurturing the best of the best for the seafaring industry. This wealth of experience is channelled towards providing the best possible training for students. The high-end logistical and personnel potential headed by Master Mariners and Chief Engineers, a love for seafaring is sure to be cultivated.

MSTI is proud of its 35 years – plus history of expertise in maritime training and education.
Established in 1986, MSTI is the first private maritime training facility in Sri Lanka. Its German-owned parent company has over 100 years of experience in shipping, while its local parent company has over 25 years of experience in crew management. The wealth of experience is channeled towards providing the best possible training for students. Given that the training facility is equipped with the best technologies and the training is headed by master mariners and chief engineers, a love for seafaring will soon be cultivated. In addition to showcasing an extraordinary amount of experience, MSTI has also upheld German standards in establishing its training facility, which simulates real-ship environments.
